Aaron Rodgers is the quarterback the Steelers offense needs

We hope in the next week the Pittsburgh Steelers sort out their quarterback situation and sign a veteran as insurance for the upcoming season. We say this with all due respect to Mason Rudolph but the Steelers have to add a player prior to the 2025 NFL draft. Previously, we felt like the safest choice was definitely Russell Wilson. But now that we get word that Wilson is going to want a payday similar to what Aaron Rodgers might want, we’ve changed our tune.

And we can thank ESPN reporter Brooke Pryor for that. Pryor went on 93.7 TheFan and brought up a point we hadn’t really thought of but puts us squarely on Team Rodgers for the Steelers starting quarterback in 2025.

“I think Arthur Smith is going to have his hands full with Aaron Rodgers,” Pryor said. “Aaron Rodgers has been doing this for such a long time. Aaron Rodgers runs the offense the way that he wants to. To me, that’s gonna reduce Arthur Smith’s role.”

We now realize this is exactly what this team needs. A quarterback who is going to go out and make plays no matter how much the ultra-conservative coaches don’t want them to. We got to see it work with Steelers legend Ben Roethlisberger when he would just take over games and despite how inept his offensive coordinator was, found ways to make plays. For all his quirks, this is the kind of player a stagnant offense needs in the worst way.
