Iraqi, Kurdish forces in standoff, weeks after Kurdish vote for independence


Iraqi army and Kurdish troops are in a standoff in Kirkuk, a city located in the Kurdistan region, which voted for independence from Iraq last month. Kirkuk holds 10 percent of Iraq’s oil reserves.
