Trump Says It’s Time to End Funding for NPR and PBS – RedState

Donald Trump has been in the Oval Office just over two months, and I’m pretty sure the man does not sleep. The clip with which he is creating news and talking with the press is something that we have not seen since the 45th president of the United States, who, by the way, was also Donald Trump.

However, he might be beating his old pace from four years ago.

I won’t be taking any time off from this like Lawrence O’Donnell is doing.

From that post:

For Lawrence O’Donnell, though, it is a bit too much, as I read about right HERE:

Speculation about The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell being canceled began when O’Donnell missed Monday’s broadcast. Several viewers took to social media to inquire about the host’s whereabouts and his expected return. Many assumed that he would be back this week after his scheduled week off. But his absence now appears to have been extended. O’Donnell has yet to address his absence on Monday.

For those unfamiliar, O’Donnell previously revealed to Rachel Maddow that he would be stepping away for a week from his hosting duties because he was “exhausted” from covering Donald Trump. He also praised Maddow’s dedication to hosting her show daily for 100 days during Trump’s second term—a shift from her usual once-a-week format.

“This is day 52. I thought it was day 92. It turns out it’s day 52, Rachel, and I’m exhausted at day 52, so I’m going to take next week off. And I’m telling you that now because I know you don’t like it when I just drift away. I’m just taking next week off, then I can come back and go with you all the way to the hundred days,” he said.

That truly breaks your heart, doesn’t it?

Now Lefties have an idea how I felt under four years of Joe Biden tripping up the stairs of Air Force One and then walking around the stage after a speech like a Roomba.

Enjoy the next three years and 10 months, kids.

Of course, the kids at MSNBC and progressives in general are having heartburn because Trump selected Elon Musk to run DOGE. That outfit has been going through federal government spending and looking at receipts to see exactly how we have accumulated 36 trillion dollars in debt.

The president was at a gathering, signing some executive orders and also meeting with people he had nominated to become ambassadors. Of course, he decided to take some questions from the press.

President Donald Trump said he “would love to” remove federal funding for mainstream news outlets NPR and PBS during a meeting at the White House on Tuesday.

“Well, I would love to do that,” Trump said in response to a reporter who asked him about the DOGE Subcommittee hearing entitled “Anti-American Airwaves: Holding the heads of NPR and PBS Accountable,” where NPR and PBS leaders will testify.

“I think it’s very unfair,” Trump added. “It’s been very biased. The whole group, I mean, a whole group of them. And frankly, there’s plenty of — look at all the media you have right now. There’s plenty of coverage.”

Katherine Maher, chief executive officer and president of NPR (National Public Radio), and Paula Kerger, chief executive officer and president of PBS (Public Broadcasting Service), are slated to testify on why “the demonstrably biased news coverage they produce for an increasingly narrow and elitist audience should continue to be funded by the broad taxpaying public,” according to a press release from the DOGE Subcommittee.

I’m not going to lie and say I’ve never listened to NPR and enjoyed it because I’m a radio guy, and they have, in the past, put on some good shows. Yet we have found out that groups that want to sidestep the normal way of functioning business-wise in this country have used the federal government in some weird, goofy ways to get money. Musk and DOGE have shown that.

If federal funding were to be totally cut out for both NPR and PBS I’m sure they have very smart people over there who will be able to figure out how to make that up.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) added this from the article above:

“These partisan, so-called ‘media’ stations dropped the ball on Hunter Biden’s laptop, down-played COVID-19 origins, and failed to properly report the Russian collusion hoax,” she added. “Now, it is time for their CEOs to publicly explain this biased coverage. Federal taxpayers should not be forced to pay for one-sided reporting, which attacks over half the country to protect and promote its own political interests. I look forward to working with the Trump Administration to stop allowing the blatant misuse of taxpayer funds for partisan ends.”

Greene is right in that regard.

Taxpayer funds have been misused and flat-out wasted.

We’re in the DOGE era now, and it’s time to end the subsidy to NPR and PBS.

DOGE is finding billions of dollars in wasteful spending, and the Democrats are losing their minds as they realize their gravy train and woke projects are coming to an end.
