To be honest this week was a bit of a challenge to find a standout. There were stories breaking – such as tariffs and the supposed meltdown of the stock market – consuming the entire press complex; as a result we needed to look elsewhere to collect examples.

So we had to look in the margins to start collecting other examples of dysfunction in the press. Let’s start mucking around in the media swamps and see who took top (bottom) honors this week.
THE CONTENDERS
MSNBC – Chris Matthews was brought back to laughably question where this country can obtain its building lumber. Joe Scarborough tried slamming Trump over the stock market crashing even as he held evidence of the market rebounding. Eddie Glaude resorted to the tired claim that Kamala Harris lost the election due to racism. Al Sharpton openly threatened Pepsico with boycotts unless it reinstituted its DEI programs.
New York Times – Now that it is safe, the Times saw fit to report on Hunter Biden’s sketchy business dealings. Reporter Adam Goldman, who pushed the Russian collusion hoax, was upset that Kash Patel fired agent Brian Auten over his pushing false information feeding the controversy. In a civics column aimed at school kids the paper compared President Trump allegedly attacking the press to Putin and communist China. Columnist Masha Gessen declared Trump had definitively created a police state. The paper stated that the man who killed his co-workers at Walmart was motivated by President Trump.

CNN – The outlet sounded disappointed in reporting that inflation was decreasing. Their extremist correspondent Donie O’Sullivan ignored all the violence from the Left over the past month to state there is near no extremism on the Left. Anderson Cooper hosted a town hall for Bernie Sanders during which the host was called out for misgendering an audience member. Jake Tapper induced laughter when he felt the need to state that he does not sit on the left.
NPR – The network with 1st Amendment challenges was back at it, warning its listeners they were about to hear hate speech from the Right. They promoted the revisionist Biden-era book “Uncharted”. The outlet was saddened to report that college campuses are clamping down on pro-Hamas protests. As NPR faces charges of partisanship, media correspondent David Folkenflik posted a campaign video for a Democrat candidate.
THE WINNER
NBC NEWS
Lester Holt was determined to report on Trump killing the economy, so he glossed over favorable job numbers to claim the president caused a market “meltdown.” (Small matter that by Friday’s close the Dow was up nearly 10 percent).

Kristen Welker saw her talking points shredded when she was countered with facts on tariffs and economic effects
Holt also saw no need to include the fact that the murderous soccer coach in California was an illegal alien.
Ken Delanian claimed to break the story of Kash Patel being fired from the ATF over incompetence; he sheepishly corrected the obvious half an hour later. The network finalized its defamation suit settlement over fraudulent reporting.
Chuck Todd essentially admitted to lying about leftist bias in the press while on the network.
Editor’s Note: The mainstream media continues to deflect, gaslight, spin, and lie.
